Is it possible? Like I mean if a button does nothing at first, and then you have an option so that the user can open a text file with the action in it. Such as the inside the text file it says:
msgbox("hi")
How can I make it so that once someone opens that the button does the thing inside of the text file?

You mean running a string with .NET code? I've looked it up but never found an answer. Be interesting if you find a solution.

What I think, is to develop a set of commands that is then read as string and set parameters to it. Make it so that it reads line by line.
With your code, That will be to do a StartsWith and find msgbox. Then to get its parameters (the hi part), Do a Split on "(" and Get the 2nd String in the array and Split is again with ")" and take the 1st array.

you need to make your own command with code. you can use array. Dim str as string = "msgbox("""hi""")", ary as array, ary2 as array, text as string ary = str.split("(") if ary(0) = "msgbox" then ary2 = ary(1).split(")") text = ary2(0).replace("""","") msgbox(text) end if

I want to learn a bit more about the split version of this @izy Coder, how can I make it so that when someone types in msgbox("") something in a richtextbox1 that it will turn it into a msgbox with the text in the "". I attempted the code you gave me, but don't really know how to work it so that if someone types in msgbox("") the text in the "" will show. :/
