How did you manage to show the animated gif loading icon in the tab error-free? Did you use the ImageAnimator class and if you did do you have example code to get it into the tab item (dotnetbar) For me it will show for a second and then say InvalidOperationException: object is currently in use elsewhere.

Hey chris, Just set the selected tab imaege to an image(.GIF) of a loading icon. There's hundreds (go to images): search.lumiatechnologies.com/#q=loading%20gifFor the favicons use this: Try Dim url = CType(SuperTabControl1.SelectedTab.AttachedControl.Controls.Item(0), Awesomium.WebControl).Source Dim iconURL = "http://" & url.Host & "/favicon.ico" Dim request As System.Net.WebRequest = System.Net.HttpWebRequest.Create(iconURL) Dim response As System.Net.HttpWebResponse = request.GetResponse() Dim stream As System.IO.Stream = response.GetResponseStream() Dim favicon = Image.FromStream(stream) SuperTabControl1.SelectedTab.Image = New Bitmap(favicon, New Size(15, 15)) Catch ex As Exception SuperTabControl1.SelectedTab.Image = My.Resources.Page End Try Hope this helps!

an image shows but the animation does not display. If i try and use the ImageAnimator class it gives me the error above most of the time. Did you use that class or just Stream it from the internet into the supertabitem?

I didn't use ImageAnimator class or stream it from the internet. I just added a loading image to Resources and then whenever the page loads I'd set the SelectedTab.Image to the image from my Resources. Example: SuperTabControl1.SelectedTab.Image = My.Resources.loading_gif Hope this helps!

Hey sorry to revive old thread but i just wanted to post that if you want favicons from website, using "http://www.google.com/s2/favicons?domain=" is more reliable than "http://"+host+"/favicon.ico"
usage example:
